In a season that can be noisy and full of distractions I often use coloring pages as a quiet contemplative prayer activity . 

This practice draws on visio divina, or praying with images. These can be art images, painting from christian artists found in museum or as in my case church stained glass windows encountered on pilgrimage. So instead of  rushing to interpret a particular bible scene I  simply look, quieten down to notice and then trace the lines to discover. I notice colors, symbols, hidden characters in the background, juxtapositions of local and imagined bible scenes.  As my hands move my mind settles and I can connect with the biblical scripture passage represented . During coloring in I let my mind enter a meditative state, often choosing the color palette beforehand so I dont get distracted with too many choices. As color starts to fill the page, the scripture passage or verse or story of the bible settles within me.  So for me the goal isn’t a perfect picture but rather creating space to open myself up to an encounter with god.

• you can print a smaller version of the nativity scene that is already arranged sideways so it can be cut along the frame line and folded ,. As there is less space between the coloring in lines it might be suitable for those women experienced with adult coloring in pages 
• the larger image can also be used, some home printers have functions to reduce the image byt a cetain percentage, that might be worth experimenting with depending on the type of art material you use to color in with. Colored pencils with a high pigment content can often be sharpened but might break easily, so may only be suitable for larger images, whilst water color with a tiny brush and printed on watermedia card stock can be used with very fine details brushes. This works well on a laser printer

I am not sure how long ago it was when I discovered that studying particular bible scenes using church stained glass art was helpful for me. I use both visio divina methods when encountering stained glass art in churches, but tracing particular scenes, coloring in their biblical characters, scenes set in verious scripture verses  makes me focus and discover the symbols used . I partifularly like studying the samae scenes but seen through a variety of different artists eyes, in different time periods and even in different christina denominations. Catholic stained glass art may focus on different partis opf a bible story then protestant or othodox christian stained glass. It all helps me woth my personally informed bible study
