as I am preparing in October for my advent bible study I am beginning to think of how to record my journey in my bible journaling. 

I  use small already cut out bible study clip art and add them to a clear ziplock pocket in my travelers journal which works well when I am on a longer pilgrimage. For my   visiting small churches on my day pilgrimages I tend to bible journal when I return home often incorporating local church leaflet into a collage style contemplative prayer reflection 

I am trying to think how other contemplative pilgrims may travel ? Do they incorporate bible journaling on the go or when they return to their pilgrim hostel at the end of the day ? When watching pilgrimage documentaries I seem to mainly notice walking and hiking pilgrims strictly sticking to a time driven schedule rather than reflective or contemplative journeys. I don't think I myself could travel like that as I enjoy spending time in places where God asks me to pause. But then each to their own journey  and may you find peace on yours, always/

Advent bible Study Clip Art
I will be adding a Pinterest collection board to see if I can sort all my bible study clipart by scripture, bible book theme, pilgrimage topics and perhaps develop them into bible character stories too. This is an exciting new project with which I will hope, so God willing, I will be able to fund my personal pilgrimage jpourneys, so any ideas are much welcomed. I will ask be adding nativity, advent saints and other scripture relevant to the season in church stained glass windows that can be used for your personal Visio divina and advent bible study

What does Advent mean ? 

• There are no direct references to "Advent candles" in the Bible but references to Jesus being “ The light of the World “ and Lightbringer have been used to crete a symbolic lighting of candle in the advent period
• What does advent mean in your Christian denomination church? Do you use advent candles for Contemplative prayer in the lead up to Christmas at your church ? 
• I have created an information page on what is known about different advent traditions in the christian calendar, from Pope Gregory being thought of as being the first to add various customs to the German tradition of advent candles and treat lighting. There are many differeing opinions and I will continue to add research and literature I find as I progress to my own personal advent bible study each year
